Monday, April 20th, 1981: So far in his young career, Patrick Griffith has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the Rio Grande League in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts.
The 22-year-old McAllen Royals left fielder hit at a torrid .467 clip as he collected 14 hits in 30 at-bats, 3 home runs, 10 RBIs and 7 runs scored.
