OOTP 19.8 Features New Shop Player Options and More!

We spend every summer coming up with great new features for OOTP, and this year is no exception. Our latest update to the game offers a host of new features, improvements, and options, including:

  • New shop player options: You can shop multiple players at once, retain salary, and set basic search criteria. Limit 5 shops daily, 10 during winter meetings and before the trade deadline

  • Added new right-click options for inserting players to lineups

  • Will no longer automatically skip top starters at the end of the season if clinched. AI-controlled teams will set strategy to bench top-2 starters on team during final weekend

  • And more!

Read the whole list in our latest forum post, where you’ll find download links too. Note: If you bought the game through Steam, EA Origin, or the Mac App Store, you’ll need to update the game there.

OOTP Takes in the All-Star Game and Home Run Derby

Three members of the OOTP Developments team -- creator and lead developer Markus Heinsohn, co-developer Matt Arnold, and Chief Marketing Officer Rich Grisham -- attended this year’s Major League Baseball All-Star Game and All-Star Home Run Derby in Washington, DC.

Learn how the trip went and which aspect of the event Matt Arnold would like to get into OOTP some day in our latest blog post.

“I Looked Over and it Was Greg Maddux”

Sportswriter David Carducci covered multiple World Series and even interviewed three Presidents of the United States during his 20-year career as a reporter. He talked to us about his career and how it feeds into his new blog, The Yakker, where he indulges in various historical “What if?” scenarios concocted by him and his friends.

Check out our blog post to learn more, including his encounter with pitcher Greg Maddux before Game 1 of the 1995 World Series.

A Tale of Two Bryce Harpers!

T.J. Lauerman and Kris Jardine, our resident community managers for Out of the Park Baseball, have been running separate Twitch streams in which they are managing the Los Angeles Angels and Milwaukee Brewers, respectively. Another blog post has all the details, including both of their efforts to sign Bryce Harper after the 2018 season.

From the Dugout With Mike Scioscia to Meeting Orel Hershiser!

Los Angeles Dodgers fan Scott Andes has been immersed in the team since childhood. He and his sister even had the chance to meet catcher Mike Scioscia in the dugout in 1990 (and they have photographic proof of the encounter). Our final new blog post this month features an interview with him. Find out how he had the chance to meet Orel Hershiser, Vin Scully, and others in recent years.

See you next month!
