OOTP 18 Tutorial Videos and Update News

Our long-time fans know that we’re happy to chat about our games with anyone, anywhere, any time. So we’re thrilled to announce that OOTP Developments’ Chief Marketing Officer, Rich Grisham, will be on MLB Network on Friday, July 28 at 4 pm Eastern time.

Rich will be chatting about Out of the Park Baseball 18, the latest baseball news, and much more, so we hope you’ll tune in and hear what he has to say. You can watch MLB Network on the MLB.com At Bat app or on a participating cable or satellite TV provider.

538 sims Ryan Howard’s career without the shift

We’re also proud to announce a new partnership with Nate Silver’s forecasting site 538, starting with an intriguing project that replayed Ryan Howard’s career three times in a version of Major League Baseball where the dreaded shift didn’t exist. How did he do? Read the article to find out.

You can try some “What if?” scenarios of your own in OOTP 18. If you don’t have your copy yet, get it now and see how MLB history might have played out if free agency always existed, or if the National League added the DH right now. Find out why Royals Review called OOTP 18 “an immersive, customizable baseball world.”

Trenton Thunder take OOTP out to the ballgame

Our other new partnership is with the Trenton Thunder, the Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees. On July 4, they helped celebrate the American holiday by hosting an Out of the Park Baseball night at their ballpark.

If you missed it, don’t worry: We’ll be back on August 24 for Hockey Night, when we’ll be giving away copies of OOTP 18 and Franchise Hockey Manager 3. In the meantime, you can read about the July 4 event on our blog.

A tale of two teams: 1967 LA Kings® and
2016 Detroit Red Wings®

Finally, we wanted to let you know about our other latest blog post, which features an interview with two OOTP Developments staff members, Adam B and Jeff Riddolls. The pair have been co-hosting our weekly Franchise Hockey Manager 3 Twitch stream, and they’ve been alternating between two sims: building an expansion team with the 1967 LA Kings® and rebuilding the Detroit Red Wings®, starting in 2016.

Check out the blog post to see how both sims are doing so far.
