The NBSL closes it's doors.

As a commissioner since the birth of OOTP3, the NBSL had run 21 seasons over the last 4+ years. We weathered some early storms, as most leagues do, going through two commissioners and a handful of owners before I was invited to take over the league along with my pal Eric who co-founded the league. Since then we've seen mostly good times. We have had a relatively stable owner base and were, in my opinion, one of the best leagues out there.

Life intervenes over time unfortunately. My job has taken me away from home as I travel alot and we've hit a wall with ownership that many other leagues have experienced. With the time since OOTP6 was released, the OOTP community has seen a drop off of older owners and we were unable to generate interest in some openings that we had this year.

With the inability to find owners, and the lack of interest we were seeing, we've decided to close the doors on the NBSL. Thanks to all those who were part of our small family over the years and those who checked in on us from time to time.

John
NBSL Commissioner

Sorry to see the NBSL close. I was a member there and won my first ever online league WS there.

Take care John, hopefully someday you'll have the time to come back and start another league.

Seems to be more GMs interested in brand new leagues than oldies (tried and true). I am finding it difficult to get an owner for NARBL which has been active since OOTP4 (2002). Hence I am still pimping one opening.

Indeed. I have no idea why so many people are after modern-day real player leagues which always seem to fold after a season (or less). Good luck to all of you.

Simple-
The average age of those on this board has been declining for years now. Younger people are more interested in these types of leagues.
